First, there are the Universal (Applies Everywhere) Rules/Guidelines. These rules apply EVERYWHERE on the Artix Entertainment forums. Claiming ignorance of these rules is absolutely NO excuse, as you agreed to abide by them when you signed up for your forum account.
THE UNBREAKABLE RULES
I. MECHQUEST QUESTIONS ONLY
This board is for questions about MQ only. Not about AdventureQuest, DF or any other game you might play.
While we would prefer that you look in the MQ Encyclopedia before asking questions, IF you cannot find your answer there, ask here.
General Discussion topics go in the MQ General Discussion forum.
Bug reports go in the MQ Gremlins forum.
Want to know what stats a weapon has? Where things can be found? Try the MQ Encyclopedia forums
II. NO HARASSMENT/FLAMING
Harassment is defined on these forums as the purposeful insult of anyone’s personality, attitude, age, name, race, sexual orientation, religion, nation of origin, or many other categories in the direct attempt to not only embarrass the other person but incite a response. Any flaming found will be issued a warning to start with, possibly a Severe Warning or ban should the insult warrant it.
III. NO TROLLING
Continual attacks of a specific person/group that would not be considered harassment on a post-to-post level becomes such when done over a period of time and is considered trolling
IV. NO BEGGING FOR UPGRADES
Begging for a StarCaptain or Dragon Amulet upgrade, or AQ Guardianship is a bannable offence on these forums. Do NOT do it at all, not in PMs, not in threads. No contests for which an upgrade is a prize, either. It only encourages begging.
V. STAFF HAVE FINAL SAY
Membership of this forum is a privilege, not a right. Membership only guarantees the ability to access them. Trolling, harassment, or any other rule breaking will result in varying degrees of punishment (though some violations result in automatic bans). Staff have the final say in the issue, and disagreeing with them in anything other then a private, respectful manner will be considered not only harassment but trolling. If you have issues with moderation that has occured the correct actions to take are:
For an ArchKnight of the MQ Q&A board: (All contact mentioned is by PM/Private Message)
PM them first, attempt to resolve the issue, if you cannot resolve the issue contact an appropriate moderator (For the Archknights: Reens or the head mod of the board your complaint happened in. If you have tried unsuccessfully to resolve the problem with that AK please contact Reens.
Reens' word is final.
For a Moderator: Contact that moderator first, if they cannot resolve your issue, you may then contact Reens. Reens' word is Final.
Failure to proceed in this manner, such as by posting a public thread indicates you haven't actually followed the rules, and as such your thread may be locked or deleted.
Other Rules:
1. Don't post a Duplicate topic.
Use Search .. your question/topic may have been asked/raised before. Read the posts already on the board. If your question hasn't already been answered by a thread on the same topic, THEN you can post another thread. If it has, just use the already existing thread.See rule 9) for the exception to this rule.
2. Read a user's post before replying.
The entire post! Not just some of it. You may be replying to something you have no clue about, if you only read half or less of a post.
3. Spell Check!
Please. Read over your post to make sure that it makes sense. Try reading it out loud, too.
4. Don’t double/triple post.
In the upper right hand corner of every post you make, you’ll find the edit tool. Use this if you want to add on to something you said. Don’t make another post in the same thread. Double posting is a sure way to get your post deleted.
5. No mini-modding!
If you see a post that belongs in another part of the forum (Q&A/Gremlins etc) please do not post to say it doesn't belong. You can get in big trouble for mini-modding like this, and even banned. Post as if they DID post in the correct board, or just don’t post at all. A moderator will take care of the topic.
However, you can post to help them out, with some restrictions: 1) Answer them as if they were posting in the correct forum 2) Politely inform them of the location of the correct forum/sticky. 3) LINKS are helpful!
6. Do not name all new topics "MQ" or "MechQuest Question..." (or any form thereof)
Please try to be descriptive in your topic. It's safe to assume that ALL posts in this forum are about MechQuest... A good, descriptive subject line will make for a better overall thread
7. Do not bump "dead" topics
If a topic has not been posted in for 3 days or more, the topic is finished. Don't post in it. If you "bump" one of your own topics to bring it back up to the top of the topic list, you will receive an Official Warning. For official topics, tagged with the =MQ= tags by forum staff, this limit is 5 days.
8. Screenshots
Please do not post screenshots in your topics - post the link instead.
9. Do NOT reply to spam
Do not reply to spam. That just makes it worse. Think of a little bit of spam...then as the 20 next replies are spam it ends of like a leaning tower of Spam. And then.....
Whammo. *SPLAT* All over everyone.
So please, in the interest of the cleaning staff. No spam.
10. Topics we do NOT want to see posted:
Anything that's NOT a question.
11. Please do not discuss questions once a complete answer is provided
Because MQ Q&A is a place for people to get quick answers to their questions, please do not turn threads into places where the objects of the question are discussed. If something has been fully answered by another poster, please do not post in the thread just to restate what has already been provided.
