Freezing
A frozen monster cannot attack, and has its Fire Resistance set to 200% (even if it is normally higher). Freezing usually lasts for one turn. Freezing is symbolized by the word "Frozen!" beneath the monster's MP bar.
A monster cannot be frozen if its Ice Resistance is less than 100%, and/or if its base element is Ice.
Monsters receive a "saving throw" to resist freezing. This is equal to the monster's END * 0.25%.
0 END = 0% chance of resisting
50 END = 12.5% chance of resisting
100 END = 25% chance of resisting
200 END = 50% chance of resisting
Paralysis
A paralysed monster cannot attack. Paralysis last for as long as the description describes (usual one turn). Paralysis is symbolized by the word "Paralyzed!" beneath the monster's MP bar.
Monsters receive a "saving throw" to resist Paralysis. This is equal to the monster's END * 0.4%.
0 END = 0% chance of resisting
50 END = 20% chance of resisting
100 END = 40% chance of resisting
200 END = 80% chance of resisting
Thanks to Master Dag for the Paralysis formula.
Disarmament
A disarmed monster has all damage it does set to 0, and gains -300% B2H. Disarmament is symbolized by the word "Disarmed!" beneath the monster's MP bar.
Control
While controlled, all damage a controlled monster deals is instantly healed, and the monster is "healed" by the negative amount of what you were healed; this includes all MP damage dealt. During this status, monster element is converted to Void, but otherwise the attacks are unchanged (no damage or BTH boosts). Effectively, the monster attacks itself. Control is symbolized by "Controlled!" beneath the monster's MP bar.
Soaking
A soaked monster has its energy resistance increased by +50%. This caps once the energy resistance increases by +150%. Each hit the monster does reduces this by 10%, regardless of whether the hit connects or not. Soaking is symbolized by the word "Soaked!" beneath the monster's MP bar.
Water-Element monsters are immune to soaking.
Nerfing
A nerfed monster has its Attributes, Combat Defences, Element Modifiers, or some other stat altered by one of your pets (and only pets; decreases by Armours/Weapons do not count as a Nerf, for purposes of this definition). Nerfing lasts for the duration of the encounter.
If Element Modifiers are nerfed, then only listed ones are affected. Void, Element X, Death, etc. are unaffected.
A monster may only be nerfed a total of four times, regardless of the source. Thus, if a monster is nerfed three times by a Nerfkitten, the monster can only be nerfed once more (regardless of whether the nerfing comes from that Nerfkitten, a different Nerfkitten, or a different pet).
Nerfing is not symbolized on the monster, other than on its stats.
