| Subject: How To Cut Around Your Character!, Using MS Paint! Mon Dec 17, 2007 6:52 am | |
| There will be a few simple steps involved in cutting around your character. YOU CAN CLICK TO ENLARGE ALL IMAGES! STEP 1Start off with your screenshot. I suggest going to the "Worn Equipment" tab, then selecting "Show Equipment Stats". Take a screenshot of your character (it's turning from left to right. Take the screenshot whenever your character's in a position you like). STEP 2Open up MS Paint. Paste the picture in. Now crop your character (use the selection tool. It's at the top, right hand corner at the left-hand side "tool selection" bar). Make the selection box whatever size you want around your character. Press ctrl+C or go to "Edit" and select "Copy". Press ctrl+A or go to "Edit" and select "Select All". Press the delete button. Now press ctrl+V or go to "Edit" and selet "Paste". Your cropped character should now be on screen in the size of box you selected. STEP 3Click on "View", then "Zoom", then "Custom". Select the "800%" tick box and press "Ok". Now select the "Paintbrush" tool. Select the smallest of the "Size of Brush" options (1 pixel, it's at the top-right of the box.), then select "White" in the colour bar at the bottom. Make a 1-pixel border of white all around the image. Basically, you are completely separating your character's image from the brown background. It should look something like this; STEP 4Well done, that's the hard part over with. Keeping the zoom at 800% (I only zoomed out to take the above picture), select the "Rubber" tool and select the largest rubber available. Rub most of the brown background, making sure not to pass the white border. IMPORTANT - switch to a smaller rubber for those little spaces. For spaces smaller than the smallest rubber, select the "Paintbrush" and select the smallest option using the colour white again. Make sure you've gotten rid of all the brown, using both the rubber and the 1-pixel wide paintbrush. When all the brown has gone, go to "View", "Zoom", and select "Normal Size". Alternatively, just press ctrl+PgUp. STEP 5There is no Step 5! Well done, you've cropped your character. You can now paste it into other pictures (Make sure the transparency button is on the bottom of the two options. The transparency selector appears when the "Selection Box" tool is selected. Nice, huh? | |
