The RULES - Read before posting! (updated 10/29/07)

I. Rules
1. First and foremost, all Universal Rules apply
2. Only additions to Encyclopedia are allowed. Posts that do not add anything useful can and will be a) deleted on sight, and b) without notification. This means replies to threads, questions (which belong in the DF Q&A, spam, and any other sort of discussion (to be held in the DF GGD).
____a) If you reply to a thread with an update, you may find your reply deleted - fear not! Your update has most likely been added to the first post by an AK, and you should be credited at the bottom of the post. If you believe that credit has not been given for an update you provided, please PM a mod or AK.
____b) If you believe there is something missing, look through Encyclopedia again and do a search for it before posting.
3. All entries must be in template, entries not in template will be removed to open up space for those that are. All necessary code is contained within each subsection's Posting Template (stickied).
4. Entries must have all available information filled out prior to being posted, this includes screenshots, sellbacks, dialogue, etc. Entries that do not include all necessary information are not needed, and as such, will be deleted. Filling in ALL slots in the appropriate Posting Template will assure that this is not a problem.
---You may collaborate with another fourmite on an entry. HOWEVER: all pertinent information must be included at the time of posting, so get the entry together with each other before posting, not after.
_____Exception 1: Screenshot of an item that is rare (currently unobtainable) at the time of posting.
_____Exception 2: Screenshot of an item that costs Dragon Coins.
_____--Any other exceptions will be made ONLY with the EXPRESS PM'd consent of a moderator.
_____----This is not likely to happen, so if it is not ABSOLUTELY necessary, don't ask.
5. Sigs are NOT allowed. They only distract and make it harder to find information.
6. NO SPOILERS - Spoilers include the locations of any hidden doorways and anything labeled as a spoiler in game. If you aren't sure, then don't make an entry.
7. Staff Items - Staff only items will not be posted in the Encyclopedia. They are not available to the public, and usually are not of practical use.
8. New Guides - You cannot post in Important Informations and Guides. If you wish to make a guide, please PM a mod with your idea, why you would like to make the guide, and they will give you instructions.
9. Mods/Encyclopedia AKs have the final say in any deletions. If you find one of your posts deleted, there was a reason for it.

If you plan on adding a secondary tag to your entry, such as that used in Fire Chest, please make sure it is within the signature limits.


C. Images
- Screenshots should be taken using the "Best" graphics quality, and using the Zhoom feature on the cliff next to the Guardian Tower. Pictures should be cropped in around the weapon/monster so that the focus of the picture is the weapon/monster not the player character.
- Do NOT take screenshots when using Fullscreen - it distorts the image.
- Please save images as a .jpg, .jpeg, or .gif - you can get these file types by opening your images with MSPaint, clicking "Save As..." and choosing the file type (under the file name box)

D. Credit
If another forumite provides information by replying to your thread, you must give them credit! An italicized line at the bottom of your post is enough. It is considered plagiarism to take some one's update and make it seem as though you found the information yourself.


E. Miscellaneous
*** When make an entry for an item that starts with "The", such as The 9th Flame, make sure to put "The" at the end of the title for alphabetizing purposes. It saves the mods and AKs a LOT of time if they do not have to go about editing the titles of entries.
- Use the indices in each section of Encyclopedia for a easier and faster way to find items.
- Some items have been combined into one thread for being in the same series. One example of that is the Wrath of Flame Series (Wrath of Flame, Mighty Wrath of Flame, Grand Wrath of Flame) article.
