To do this, you can usually just press the key on your keyboard that says "Print Scrn" on it. It's located on the right half of your keyboard, above the six keys that have Delete, Insert, Home, and etc on them.
Next, open up a Paint* document, and paste your image in. You can do this by right-clicking and selecting "Paste", or by going to the toolbar and selecting Edit>Paste.
You should now see a large image pasted into your document, I'm showing a smaller picture to make things easier to load and see what's going on. As said in the image, use the select tool to move the part of the image you want into the top left-hand corner.
From there, drag the blue boxes inwards to get rid of the white parts of your image.
Once you've cropped your picture, it should turn out something like this:
Once memorized, you can crop an image very quickly using that procedure.

Uploading An Image on Imageshack
There many different types of imagehosting websites, for this guide we will be using imageshack. To get there, go to
http://www.imageshack.us.
This is what you see on imageshack's homepage, just click on "Browse" to find your image and "host it!" to upload it.
You should now be directed to a page with some different codes. To post a picture directly, like this:
Copy either the code which says "Hotlink for forums (1)" beside it, or the code which has "Direct link to image" beside it.
If you use the second way, add an "
" to the end. The code would look like this:
- Code:
-
[img]Direct link to image[/img]
To post only a link, just copy the "Direct link to image" option. For a thumbnail, use the "Thumbnail for forums (1)" option.
Some other websites which you can use to upload images are:
- PhotoBucket (which requires you to make an account)
- TinyPic
- PicOodle
- The Image Hosting
- Putfile
FAQs
Question: I clicked on the host it button but it's still not uploading my image!Answer: There could be a couple of different explanations for why it's not working. First, make sure you went to the "Browse" and that the file path was in the text box. It could also be a result of imageshack being down, sometimes the site stops working, you would know this is happening because you are directed to a "Cannot Load This Page" message, or because it stays loading for an extremely long amount of time. In that case, use one of the other imagehosting websites listed in this post.
Another possibility is that the filesize of your image is too large. Imageshack will not upload images over 1.5 megabytes. In this situation, you should save the document as a .png (if you haven't already), and try to crop it a bit more.
Question: How do I save my image as a .png?Answer: When you go to "Save As" and type in the filename, there should be a scrollbar underneath that where you can select the PNG filetype. Older operating systems will not let you save as a PNG, so your only other options would be to keep it as a .bmp and crop it a lot so that you can upload it, or save it as a .jpeg or .gif which will reduce quality in paint.
Question: Do I need to register on imageshack to post pictures?Answer: No, you do not need to register on imageshack to post pictures on there. You are able to register if you want to, and that gives you the ability to make your own blog on imageshack and some other stuff, but it's not necessary at all.
Question: What is a good way to scale images in MS Paint?Answer: Open a picture and press Ctrl + W. Type 50 into the first two boxes and click Ok. You can use Ctrl + E to check the dimensions of the image. Scaling images in mspaint is guess work so if it's still too big, do the first step again. If it's too small you can press Ctrl + Z to undo and try a different number. (method submitted by Bub 5000)
Please Note: We have a feature in the forum called the "Moderation Que". When a member with less than five posts makes a post which contains an image, link or email, then the post will be invisible and moved to the ModQ until a moderator checks it over to see if it's appropriate. So if you have less than five posts and your picture isn't showing up, just be patient, a moderator will check your post over soon.
