| Subject: DragonFable FAQ and Hot Topics Sat Nov 17, 2007 11:04 am | |
| Welcome to the unofficial DragonFable Q&A FAQ! Here you will find the answers to most (if not all) of your DF related questions, so this should be your first stop before posting in the DF Q&A section.
This FAQ is rather long, and is always expanding. That is why I recommend that you either use the "Ctrl+F" search feature on your keyboard or just use the Forum Search feature ( guidelines/tips for the Forum Search feature courtesy of KazgrothX).
This seems to need repeating. This FAQ is NOT a place for you to ask your questions. It is merely a guide that will help to answer many of your questions. You may post here if you have an issue with the FAQ or if you want to revise the FAQ. Again, please DO NOT post your questions here (unless they relate to the FAQ), use the DF Q&A (and please, make your own thread, do not hijack the threads of others). ~westward_ho!
EDIT: Also, quoting this and acting persecuted when people ask questions here anyway is NOT acceptable. If you see questions being asked or this section being quoted, simply alert a mod or AK. ~WH

Character sheet Coins: Infinity Level: Maximum level Health: (99999999999/99999999999)
| Subject: part 2 Sat Nov 17, 2007 11:06 am | |
| part 2 Actual FAQ (the links...oh the links!) 1. Why does my character page say that I need 999999999 exp to level up? This is what is known as a "level cap". Upon reaching the cap, your next experience requirement will be too high for mere-mortals to reach. Those who are brave enough to attempt to tackle this cap will find themselves severely disappointed, as no matter how much experience you gained before the level cap was raised you will only go up by one level. For example, if the level cap is raised and you have enough experience points to gain 3 levels, you will only gain one. The current level cap is 40. 2. What's a DA? How do you get one? What are the benefits? A DA is a Dragon Amulet. You can purchase one here, and the benefits are already listed for you (and you can find the full list of DA-Only items here). You can get one DA for 19.95 USD or a DA for all 6 of your characters for only 29.95 USD. Icemaster Yeti covers this here. 3. What are DCs? Where do you get them? What are they used for? etc DCs are Dragon Coins, which can only be purchased for now. You can buy them here for 9.95 USD per 2000 DCs. Also, for those upgrading to DA-Status we have a great deal. If you want an extra 2000 DC's, you can pay only 5 USD for them while purchasing your DragonAmulet. This is a one time offer, so take advantage of it while you can! Icemaster Yeti covers any more questions about this here. You can not sell Dragon Coin Items at this time (any item purchasable in the DC shop whether it is found there or somewhere else, like the Royal Penguin Shrink Ray). Why? There are all sorts of issues, and many of them contain nasty consequences. It's best just to think hard before purchasing a DC-Item and to wait for the team to sort things out. If you really need to get rid of the item, you can always destroy it (where there normally is a button that says "Sell" in the shops, in the weapon description there will be a smaller "Destroy" button when you click the Inventory button). You can not get Dragon Coins as drops anywhere, you must purchase them or win them in a contest (you can find these in the GGD and the Design Notes when the time comes, don't ask when). However, Cysero has mentioned that they MAY be added in-game is very uncommon drops (supposedly 1-2 for the serious farmer). Until that day comes though, we must content ourselves with buying them. 4. How do I get potions? Are health and mana potions the only potions available? You can get potions by talking to Reens, the blue-haired young woman in the potions shop one screen to the left of your starting screen. You can also find potion chests in various quests (Spirits of the Inn, etc) or in other towns (by talking to their respective inn keepers). Reens may be teaching us how to make new potions with the alchemy skill later on, but for now players can only use health and mana restoring potions (they restore 100 points of hp/mp each). 5. What is this PvP I am hearing about? Is it true that we are fighting actual people? PvP has been released! You can find it by clicking the button that says "Aeris Battlespire PvP Arena!" on the sign in the top right (or left, it changes) hand corner of the title screen. This is not multiplayer, you are not battling real people, and you cannot control your character when others fight him/her. The character that you are fighting has an AI (artificial intelligence) and has been programmed by the staff. Want more details on PvP? Try checking out the Everything You Need To Know About ~PvP~ guide. 6. I heard that you can log in as multiple characters on the same account, is this true? Yes, this is true, but it is also worthless. You will not gain experience after quests if you do this, so do not bother. 7. What is "farming"? How do you farm? Where are the best places for my character to farm? Farming is doing a certain quest/event multiple times in order to gain experience or gold. You can check out the best places to farm in The Farming Guide (Thanks Crynsos and Tolkienfanatic), and if you want to focus on gold then the Farming Gold- a closer comparison (best quests) guide should help as well. 8. How do I find my character ID? What about the ID of other players? Yet again, Pae saves the day. Check out this wonderful guide on how to find your Character ID Number. To find the ID of other characters, you should look no further than Alac.'s superb " PVP IDs= List levels (post if char has DA) (Updated)" thread. 9. Quest/Item help "Where is the X Quest located?" "What monsters are there?" "Can I do it?" (and other similar questions). The DragonFable Encyclopedia is there for a reason, and you can find all of the information on quests in the Locations / Quests / Events section, so there is no reason to ask a question about a quest or event if you have not yet checked the Encyclopedia. Similarly, you can find everything you need to know about other items (Listed here for your convenience: Stackable / Non-Equippable Items, Pets / Guests, Weapons, and Accessories) in the DF Encyclopedia as well. 10. The Bandit Camp (I'm not getting any bounty? Why am I not getting Vaz Striker? etc) Not getting any bounty? You most likely forgot to obtain a bounty-list from Robina Hood. By doing so you will be able to obtain a randomized bounty by defeating a certain "Wanted Man" at the end of the quest. Currently, no stats affect which Wanted Man you will battle, and guessing will only spread rumors. Want to know if this quest is right for you?---> The Bandit Camp 11. The Doom Weapons (Why are they glowing red? Where can I get one? Will they get stronger? etc) Doom Weapons are the current "uber" weapons of DragonFable. They're special attack consists of the weapon glowing red after hitting an enemy while the doom weapon says "Hahahaha! Engulfed in darkness!". Also, the opponent will take 5 damage (element darkness) for the next 5 turns. More information can be found about them in the Encyclopedia (Weapons). Yes it is true that the Doom Weapons can be upgraded, but only if you have a Dragon Amulet and 5000 gold. They can be upgraded at Chaney's Hut in the Crystal Clear Lake in Amityvale. It's recommended that you search for it before consulting the map (see the Crystal Clear Lake entry, link above). After this upgrade, it is possible to upgrade your Doom weapons a second time by giving five Unlucky Doom Essences to the Mysterious Stranger, you can obtain these items from the Haunted Castle. 12. What do the stats do? How do I train them? Is there an untrainer? What stats should I train? You can see what every stat does by checking out the DF's Stats FAQ's and Guide to Stats To train your stats, simply go to the Falconreach Town Hall (one screen to the right of the starting screen, you'll find it!) and speak with Sir Render. Click the "Stat Trainer" button and train away! The stat untrainer is available in the same location, but there is a catch. You will untrain ALL of your stats for 1,000 gold. Again, the aforementioned guide will give you many build ideas, try searching there before posting here. 13. Where is the "save" button? There is no save button, as DragonFable saves the game itself after every quest and at other points in the game. No worries mate! 14.I keep hearing about the Pet Tog/Pet Wyvern/Pet Slime/Frost Pwny/Black Ice Pwny, but it is not in Gram's Pet Shop, where do I find one of these pets? These pets are now "rare" and cannot be obtained anymore. They were only obtainable from past events. 15. When will ...... come out?/When is the next update coming?/Why haven't they updated yet!? Questions such as "When will there be Multiplayer!?" and any other long-term questions such as those should not be asked. We don't know, we are not the staff. These features will come when they come, so please be patient and keep an open mind. As for immediate questions such as "When does DF get updates?" or "It's Friday, now where's my update!", don't ask. How would we be able to tell you? Again, we are not the staff, just be patient. Timewise, updates are usually released at 6:00 PM Server Time, which is actually Eastern Standard Time (EST). If you are not located in the EST timezone, then you can take a look at the DragonFable Website, where a handy little time signature can be found in the top right corner of the homepage. Keep in mind that the game staff are only human and mistakes can (and will) happen, which will sometimes push back the release of the update. If this ever happens, do not panic, rest assured knowing that the staff is hard at work getting the new material ready. Just a warning: If an update comes out and you feel that it is too small an update to suffice, please keep that to yourself. The staff work hard to get these new features to you, so the last thing that you should do is complain. Also, when updates come out please search for their official threads if you wish to talk about them. If you see a thread that isn't official that deals with that update, ignore it. By posting in it you'll only bump it, and we don't want that. As it has been stated above, updates are usually released on Friday. If you want hints of what's to come, the most accurate calendar is always the DragonFable Design Notes. 16. Guardianship/Guardian Armor/Guardian Blade To be a Guardian in DragonFable, one must first be a Guardian in AQ. Follow these simple steps to obtain Guardianship in DF (I will be using this abbreviation for the rest of the guide, it means DragonFable): Become a Guardian in AQ (Adventurequest) Verify your Guardianship in DF with the account you want to have Guardian privileges. You can "unverify" your account by following the steps outlined below. To obtain your Guardian Armor, simply enter the Falconreach Guardian Tower, go one screen to the left (when in the tower), and speak with the orange-haired (slightly bald) Guardian. He will outfit you. The Guardian Class has been released, and you can now train your skills by speaking with the Guardian who gave you your armor. To get rid of the armor, you can either log out or speak with the Guardian who gave you the armor in the first place and ask him to unequip it. There has also been some confusion as to how to obtain the Guardian Blade, in order to obtain one of these weapons, you will need to complete the Race to the Keygems quest in the Willowshire Guardian Tower, once you have all four Keygems, you will gain access to the Vault, inside of which you can buy your Guardian Blade. Note that there are four versions of the Blade, level 5, 10, 20 and 29, which cost 1000, 5000, 7000 and 9000 gold, respectively "Unverifying" Your Account If you verified the wrong DF account and want Guardianship on a different account, there is now help: Send the following to the Helpzard: http://www.battleon.com/help/mailer.asp?c=10&t=a * 1. PayPal transaction ID for AdventureQuest Upgrade 2. AQ User Name 3. AQ Email Address 4. DF User Name 5. DF Email Address *NOTE: the mail form will say "Account Hacked" in the subject. However, this is the only link we can find that will definitely get your information to the people it needs to go to. Please just say what your email is about when you send it so that they know what's going on. 17. DragonFable Formulas (How do I calculate my damage/What does Melee/Dodge/Critical do?/How much Exp do I need to level up? etc) All of your answers can be found in the List of DragonFable Game Formula guide (still in maintenance mode). 18. Titles/Sigs/Avatars/Screenshots How do I make a sig/post a screenshot? A Basic Overview of Screenshots 1. Press the Print Screen button on your keyboard (top right for windows users, mac users check the guide linked to directly after this mini-guide). 2. Save your picture 3. Host it on Photobucket or Imageshack 4. Copy the IMG code 5. Remove the already provided [IMG][/IMG] tags (if you are using Photobucket) 6. Put [image] before the code and [/image] afterwards *. The same goes for using image signatures, minus step number 1. Please read the How do I take a screenshot? Post a picture? Make a sig with a link? for more details. Additionally, the Digital Art and Signatures Forum is a place where you can show off your signature, request a signature, and compare signatures with others. Art-related questions ("How do I get a sig?", "Is my sig too big?", etc) belong in the Gallery Q&A. They are NOT DragonFable-Related issues. What are the forum sig limits? How big can my sig be? | |

Also, the total size of the image(s) cannot exceed 50 KB.
What else should I know about sigs? - Be sure to check out Pae's Detailed Sig Guide. - Remember to check the box that says ”Add signature” located beneath your post.
Avatars/Titles
Why am I a "new" member, and how do I get rid of it?: It converts to "Member" automatically, after you exceed 10 posts.
How do I get a picture under my name?: This is called an avatar. Go to your Profile (at the top of most forum pages), and scroll down to the "My Avatar" part. Click on the "radio button" next to Display Avatar, and then Browse to choose one from the choices available. Scroll to the bottom of the Profile page, and click Apply. THEN click OK. Your new avatar will now display.
How do I put up my OWN avatar?: Only Admins/Mods/AKs, those with Helpful or Creative titles, and the occasional contest winner can get the ability to upload custom avatars. How do you get such a title? NOT by asking for one, and not by asking to be an AK/Mod. Involvement on the forums, no rule breaking, creativity ... this MAY eventually get you a Helpful or Creative title. But don't actively seek it. Most people who get a Helpful/Creative title have it come as quite a surprise. Additionally, the titles "Banned!", "Approved Author", "Advanced RPer" and "Debate Club Member" do NOT give you the privilege to upload your own avatar. However, you can submit avatars for everyone to use. They must be sent as a group of 10 with the dimensions of 95X95 and a maximum file size of 10 KB. All avatars must be AE-related. They must be in .jpg or .gif format, but they may NOT be animated. You can send them to Beleqwaya.
19. How do I change my forum name? What about my DragonFable character's name? To change your forum name you will have to PM Seahawk with a good reason for the name change and the new name that you would like. You can only change your forum name one time so make sure it is the one that you really want when asking for the change. As for your character's name, you can not change that at the moment. Do NOT ask when the Name-Changer is coming, as it may not even be a feature that gets implemented at all.
20. How do I clear my cache? Sometimes you will get a corrupt temporary internet file whilst playing DF, causing the game to freeze up among other problems. "Clearing your cache" is cleaning out all your temporary internet files, and then logging back into the game and trying again.
The Helpzard and the DF Help Pages have very informative guides on the subject, with instructions on how to clear your cache in multiple browsers
21. How do I set my starting items? This is a DA only privilege. DA users may go to the second floor of the Falconreach Guardian Tower and talk with the librarian to set their currently equipped items as their default equipment. In PvP, your character will wear his/her default equipment.
22. Guest Help (How do I get *insert guest name*?) For those of you who are looking for guests, try checking the proper section of the Encyclopedia (Pets/Guests). We can not at the moment heal the guests nor replenish their potions without getting them again. You may be wondering why guests have health, but are not attacked. Guests can be attacked, though few places offer this feature. In Willowshire, guests can be attacked, though there are very few other places. When will this feature be used a bit more in the game you ask? We don't know, just content yourself with the fact that you're guests aren't dying before you get a chance to use them well.
Eventually guests will be levelable, and according to the Design Notes this may happen quite soon: quote:
P.S.S.S.S.S. Guess which NPC will make his final home and become levelable in the haunted forest! ^_^
23. Spoilers+Plot Spoiler Bags First of all, posting a spoiler is against The Universal (Applies Everywhere) Rules/Guidelines (#11). Though the definition of a spoiler is often debatable, you should use common sense along with Icemaster Yeti's seemingly endless bank of knowledge (lol). Plot Spoiler Bags follow the exact same guidelines. Please do not ask what the missing letters are in the plot spoiler bag(s) strewn about DragonFable. We can't tell you, nobody can. Besides, they do exactly what their name implies, they completely spoil the plot. There's no fun in that.
24. What was the "Beta" of DragonFable? Those were the good 'ole days. Guardians in AQ could test the DF beta for free, though at the expense of the occasional accidental character deletion and/or glitch/bug. For more info, see The Design Notes Archive and The Unofficial DragonFable Timeline - Updated 3.14F .
25. How do I find out about my stats/resistances? What about a monster's stats and resistances? Simply click your name at the bottom of the screen to see your stats/resistances. With monsters, you need only click the circled "?" mark to bring up their stats and resistances page. Should you need to know a monster's weaknesses and strengths, the Monsters by Weakness/Strength guide is what you want.
26. What are junk items? What can I do with them? Junk Items are (usually) only good for selling, and they normally can be sold for 500 gold (though sellbacks vary). Check out the A - Z Junk Items & Locations to see if your item is trash.
27. Why am I not hearing any music in DragonFable? What quests have music? DF's musicians are currently hard at work on creating wonderful melodies and intense battle music for you to enjoy. For now, there is barely any music in game, and the quality is somewhat lacking. You can find music in: Ghost in the Inn, the Dracolich Cutscene and more coming soon. To turn your music on, simply follow these steps:
1. Find the Options button in the bottom center of the game screen, then click it. 2. Check the empty box next to "Music" 3. Be sure that the box next to "Sound" is checked and that your volume is at least at 10 (100 recommended)
28. What's the best quest/equipment/pets for a level X Mage/Rogue/Warrior? This question is addressed by the stickied thread =AK= Topics that will be deleted on sight. As threads like this are against said rules, please do not post them. Individual character issues do not belong in DF Q&A; weapons/pet/equipment comparisons belong in DF GGD. Before asking these questions, check the Element and Strength - Weapons index and/or the A - Z Best Weapons For Your Level And Class guide and see if you can't find out the information for yourself. There is also the Character Ratings thread in the DF GGD. If you need help that the encyclopedia can not provide, then your post belongs there, NOT here (see FAQ #32).
29. How and where can I change the color of my armor? If you have a DA, you may go to the Armor Paint Room in Warlic's Portal (not his area, but the actual portal in Falconreach). Simply select a base and trim, then pay 100 gold and walk out! This is a DA only privilege, and it has been said several times that making it non-DA is unlikely, but it will be considered. In the mean time be patient or buy a DA.
30. I heard an abbreviation/acronym used and I don't know what it means! We have a complete list of DF Abbreviations, Acronyms, and common Forum Jargon, please don't hesitate to use it. When searching through it, consider using the "Ctrl+F" search function (or the forum search function) to find the term easier. Common Game/Forum/IRC Abbreviations and Acronyms (DragonFable Version).
31. I need Advice/Ratings. What items should I destroy/sell? The DragonFable Forums do not have a Character Ratings and Advice section (yet). Instead, we have a stickied Official Character Ratings (And Advice) #X topic in the DF GGD. I will not link to the section as new threads are often created, thusly outdating the link.
32. The Royal Penguin Shrink Ray (Where can I get it? What's the drop rate? etc) The Royal Penguin Shrink Ray can be found in four areas and four areas only: Cysero's DragonCoins Shop (DA-Only), The Boxopolis Quest, the Sneevil-Jitsu Dojo, and the Defend the Keep Quest. All three of the Sneevil Quests are available to everyone and can be found by speaking with Sir Valance in Oaklore (the starting screen, the one with the "!" above his head). The drop rate of the Shrink Ray has been confirmed to be .27% Once you have the Ray(s), you must purchase a pet Linus from Grams Pet Shop in Falconreach if you have not already done so. The Upgrades and Requirements are as follows:
1 Royal Penguin Shrink Ray: Prince Linus (Level 9) 2 Royal Penguin Shrink Rays: King Linus (Level 19) 3 Royal Penguin Shrink Rays: Emperor Linus (Level 29)
When any one of the Upgraded Linus pets performs its "Shrink Ray Attack" and is successful, the enemy will lose 10% of their total HP and will appear "shrunken". CHA, LUK and the version of Linus (Prince, King, or Emperor) that you own determine your chance for a successful Shrink attack. Note that enemies can only be shrunken once.
33. Where can I fight the Junkyard Driller? Battle Cores, Scrap Metal, etc The Junkyard Driller (and its more powerful variant, the Mega Junkyard Driller) can be found in the You Need More Iron in Your Diet quest, which can be found by speaking with Ash (by the Falconreach Inn) and selecting "Challenge!". The two available drops from this quest are the common Scrap Metal and the uncommon-drop, Battlecore. A more powerful, DA-only version of the Battlecore, the Enchanted Battlecore, can be purchased from Cysero's Shop in Falconreach.
The exact drop rate of the Battlecore has been confirmed as 2%. Please do not make a thread asking how many times it will take you to find one, as it will be different for everyone.
Two Common Mistakes: 1) Thinking that Battlecores drop more frequently if you fight the Mega Junkyard Driller. This, as far as we know, is false. 2) The inability to find the Drive Unit. That is because there is no such thing, Voltabot is simply referring to the Battle Core.
34. Drop Rates and Rarity This is a must read for all of you, those with questions and those who answer them alike. You can find the drop rate of most items by simply using this equation: 1/Total Number of Quest drops (divide one by the total number of possible rewards in the quest). However, the drop rate of some items have a "fixed" rate that is not dependent on the above equation. Unless it has been stated by the Mods or the Staff, we don't know what the drop rate for it is. Guessing about it only spreads misinformation, so keep your conjectures to yourself. You'll find further elaboration on this subject in westward_ho!'s On Rarity, Rares, Item Drops, and Sellback Values - A FAQ and in the Drop Rates guide.
The term "rare" can have many different meanings, but in DragonFable it only has one. It means "unobtainable", as in you can not get this item any more. Claiming that an item is a "rare-drop" makes no sense, try to use terminology such as "uncommon-drop" or "unlikely-drop". A rare item's sellback value has no reason to increase unless the staff let you know that it will, so do not assume that the price will skyrocket once it becomes rare. As for questions such as "Should I keep my rares?" that's completely up to you. Everyone has different ideas on that subject. You can keep them as memoribilia or if you find them useful, or you can sell or destroy the ones that you have no need for and save bag space. It's up to you.
35. Questions about hacks/cheats/cheaters/hacked accounts There are no cheats for DF. Discussing/asking for cheats/hacks will get you banned. Found a character you suspect is a cheater? Gather the information (character ID, why you think (s)he is a cheater), and PM the details to a Moderator. Do NOT post it in the forums. Think you’ve been hacked? Check out the Accounts section of the DragonFable Help Pages. Genuine hacking of DF accounts is extremely uncommon – it’s more likely someone you know has accessed the game using your username/password. Change the password immediately. There’s very little DF game staff can do to restore your lost items. I suggest that each and every one of you read the How do I keep my account secure? tips and guidelines in the DF Help Pages.
36. What is a Founder? On the character pages, there is a field called "Founder." Currently, it's value is etiher 0 or 1. Essentially, 1 means yes, and 0 means no. Founders are players who purchased a DragonAmulet within the first month of its release on June 10, 2006. Both Reens and Geopetal have confirmed that a Founder is someone who bough a Dragon Amulet within a month of its release.
37. Dragonlord Armor. Where? How? What is DOT? The Dragonlord Armor is a powerful armor that is only available to those with Dragon Amulets. If you have a Dragon Amulet, you can head to Sunbreeze Grove by talking to Twilly, and talk to Celestia. As you go up in level, you can train the armor to get more and more powerful skills, you have to be at least level 21 to obtain every skill. If you try to use the final ability, Dragon Heart, you may get a message that says "DOT Required". DOT is Damage Over Time, you will have to use Energy Beam, Fire Dragon Spirit or Earth Dragon Spirit.
38. NaN, what is it, how and why does it appear? NaN stands for Not A Number, it is a bug indicator specifically made by the Staff to show in-game bugs, every single item, number, element, percentage or character has it's own code in the main database, if the codes are well nothing happens and DF runs as usual, but, if any code is wrong, the game crashes (which is not good) and so, servers would be offline more time, to avoid that, staff made NaN, which is a base code that all of other codes have behind them, so, if a code "breaks" the game does not crash and NaN shows to yell at staff that they made an error. If you see that NaN shows instead of a number, element or so, take a screenshot (Reference FAQ #18) and post it in DragonFable Bugs (only if it hasn't been posted before, check before doing it).
39. Dragons, some things to remember Stat Training - The highest ranking point value is not 161. The numbers next to the 5 abilities is how many points that you have to have in that pool to unlock that power. Every 8 points the power improves. Each power improves 5 times before it is maxed and the next ability unlocks.
Super Dragon Chow - They are already in the normal drops for every DA dungeon except the DA only pet quests from Grams but the drop roll is higher on them than any other item. Farming for them is silly. However, finding them is a real treat.
Lag - It is not the amount of math going on behind the scenes that lags players, it's the number of moving lines on the screen. Info gained via Alac via Cysero
Special Attacks - When this equation is verified, the baby dragon will use a skill. Otherwise, it will do its normal attack. quote:
R <= 10 + Ceiling[0.1 * Stats + (PlayerCHA + PlayerLUK) / 10]
R is a random integer between 0 and 100 included. (0 <= R <= 100) Stats is an integer corresponding to the total of baby dragon stat points currently ATTRIBUTED (through training). Ceiling(value) means that "value" is always rounded UP, even if it is 0.0001. | |

40. What/where is the war? What are waves? Why should I help in the war? A war is simply that. There is a force invading the town of Falconreach or any other town really, and all of the players in DragonFable fight together, they need to beat a certain number of waves to finish it, and fight the one that is behind the war. You will know that a war is happening via the DragonFable homepage and Design Notes. A war is usually accessible using the sign in the top right of the screen in Falconreach, or from an NPC.
A wave is a group of monsters that you need to defeat. After you defeat them, a wave is complete and you receive a reward and bring the war one more step to its end. (usually wars are made from 3-4,000,000 waves. You will be surprised to find out how many people play DragonFable, and how easy it is to finish wars if everyone work together.)
Usually, you receive a Defender's Medal for finishing a wave. The entire wave is just basically a quest with one room, all of the monsters are in it, and a reward. You can exchange these Medals in the special Defender's shop in Falconreach for special items. Also, the war offers special (and usually hard to find) items that can pop up instead of a Defender's Medal once clearing out a wave.
At the end of the war, there is a boss, which is a powerful monster that is either the one behind the war, or one of his minions. At some of the wars the war rares are sold in a shop that only shows up when you defeat the boss).

Regarding Info.Submission Please Read This Before Posting In This Thread!
If you feel that an existing entry needs to be updated or that the FAQ could use a new entry, feel free to let me know (be it via PM or in this thread). However, I ask that you use the following template and that your suggestion meets the following criteria before you even consider posting in this thread (or PMing me, for that matter). While it is not my position to tell you what and what not to do, it is highly recommended that you comply with the guidelines set down here.
Three Tips Before You Suggest A Change...
#1. Is your post a suggestion regarding this FAQ? If not, then this is your chance to turn away. I'm perfectly fine with compliments and comments, but those should be limited to Private Messages. If you are going to post in this thread, then you should be focusing on improving this FAQ.
#2. Is your post already covered in this FAQ? Please refrain from posting any duplicate/repetative FAQs to be added to this guide. If you want to add more information to an existing topic, then please suggest that I do so instead of reccomending a whole, new entry.
#3. Does your post follow the format outlined below? Please refer to the guidelines directly below this before posting a suggestion (regarding the FAQ) in this thread. Remember, those are simply basic templates. Feel free to expand upon them if necessary.
FAQ Templates
Updating An Existing Entry
Updating: FAQ#. Title
Reasons For Updating:
Updated Version: Please do NOT quote the original entry. You may quote a passage or two from it, but in the interest of space use your own words.
Suggesting A New Entry
FAQ#. Title (Concise And Obvious)
Why Should It Be In The FAQ?:
Actual Entry: You do not have to type the entire entry. You can simply state a new FAQ idea, briefly explain what it will cover and why it is needed, and wait for approval or disapproval. Conversely, you can expand on these templates (as stated above) if you deem so necessary. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks to: Icemaster Yeti, Alac., and every forumite who has read this FAQ or linked someone to it. But most of all thanks to senomi15, the original creator of this FAQ, without him you would not be reading this right now
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Got a problem that you would like to take up with an AK/Staff member? Here is the list of Staff and ArchKnights. Remember to be polite and respectful.
Icemaster Yeti made the AQ Q&A FAQ, and senomi15 "stole" some of the Q&As from there (though some of them have been edited to match DragonFable's different needs). Here they are: #19, #20, #21, and #36.
More will be added to this guide as new problems arise and older areas/items/features get updated in DragonFable. Please try to PM me with questions/comments for this guide, as we do not want to clutter it up too much. | |

DragonFable Hot Topics!
Many of you will have heard of the topics that will be posted here, but with these new topics comes many, many questions! Here we'll try to give you as many answers as we possibly can! That is if we have the answers, many times we'll know only about as much as you! This is not to replace to the Design Notes so be sure to frequently check there for updates that come straight from AE. The only purpose of this thread is to keep you posted on common topics and usually temporary topics (Unlike what the FAQ covers which is more permanent topics). Basically the topics that are important, but not quite important/permanent enough to create a totally new entry for the FAQs.
I strongly encourage you to also read the DragonFable FAQ as well.

Current Hot Topics!
1. Mogloween: Please reference this thread, courtesy of Rimblade: =AK= DF Mogloween Questions/Info
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Past/Reoccurring (but not quite hot) Topics!
1. Account Verification: Why can't I verify my account? I never verified my account! Help! We've created a thread just for this too: Link
2. Ability Levels: Why can't I see what level a skill will be unlocked at anymore? As some of you may have noticed, it no longer shows you what level a skill will be unlocked at anymore, if you wish to find out what a skill does or when it's unlocked, please visit the Complete List of Skills.
3. Dragon: A Hero is Born Bored: Who is he? We can't be sure who this dragon is or who it's master is, we'll just have to wait until more info is released on him.
What does he mean "I'll see you again in 30 levels"? This can mean anything from us fighting him at level 30 or beyond, we aren't sure yet
When can I fight him? Once again, AE hasn't released any of that info yet, patience.
4. Rare Items/Pets/Weaponry: What does "Rare" mean? Rare in DF means does not mean that it has a low drop rate or is hard to find, it means that an item is no longer obtainable.
How do I know what has gone rare in DF? Be sure to check out the Guide to all Rares
5. PvP Staff Characters: I just got pwned by X Staff Member! How do I get their items/pets?! You don't, the staff have special weaponry or pets that they have coded and added on to their characters and their characters only. Besides, this just creates a challenge for us so go get em!
What are the staff IDs? You can find out by using the PvP ID List
Can I fight them? If you discover that their ID is below 1000 then no, only DAs can fight IDs below 1000. If it's above it then by all means fight away!
6. Friends: How do I bring my friends along with me? Right now the ability to bring a friends character along with you has not been implemented, when it will be? We have no idea.
7. Chat/Multiplayer/Transferring: Can I chat with my friends over DF? You can't chat with friends over DF except over the forums via PM.
Can I transfer items between my characters or a friend's character? No, right now you are unable to transfer any item between your own characters or your friends characters.
Will DF ever be a MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game)? DF is strictly single player right now and AE has no plans of making it otherwise.
8. Sub-Classes: What Classes/Sub-Classes are there? The primary classes are currently Warrior, Rogue and Mage. The only sub-classes currently are Guardian, DragonLord and Pirate.
9. Items in the Town Hall: Why are they still there but the items used to forge them are no longer available? We can only make guesses at why they're still there. It can be anything from the possibility of the item used to forge them coming back to them being left there so that people who might still have the mergable items required can still make the items. In short, your guess is as good as ours.
10. Level 999 Empty Closet: What is it? How do I get in?! It was placed solely as a joke. It is highly unlikely that people while ever be able to reach level 999 even in the very distant future. Besides, it's an empty closet, why would you want in there?
11. ChickenCow Armor: Where is it? What abilities does it have? It's thread in the 'pedia should answer both these questions: Link
What is it's drop rate? It's a fixed rate and hasn't been released by AE, so your guess is as good as ours.
12. Final Guardian Skill: What is the Question Mark? When will the skill be released? The AE Team is still working on the final skill (14th) for the Guardian Armor, when it'll be all done? We dunno --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please avoid discussion on this thread, if you have a new topic that you think should be in here, please post it! Like I said though, avoid any and all discussion, keep all that good stuff to the GGD. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No Discussion Please This thread is intended as a temporary event FAQ for the QA forums, please avoid discussion. Please do not reply to non-suggestion posts (Such as questions/discussions that should be in other places). You're welcome to add/correct/advise on to other modifications suggested by other members but once something has been thoroughly addressed, please avoid discussing it.
Thank You Firstly to Mr.Irish, the original owner of this thread, and secondly to all the great members who keep us updated, I won't list you all by name, but you know who you are. | |
