by Sorrow
Welcome to the official guide on how to make a good suggestion. So, you want your suggestions to be taken seriously? This guide will help your suggestion get put in the game. It will teach you how to make great suggestions and teach you what you shouldn't do.
You don't HAVE to use all the suggested template. These are just examples of what a proprer suggestion should be LIKE. Your suggestion isn't automaticly bad if you don't use the templates and it isn't automaticly good if you do use these suggestions. I hope you enjoy this guide and that it helps you a lot.

| part 2 Basics {s01} Ok, to start off with, never, I repeat, NEVER demand a suggestion. Second, literacy is adored. It makes you look smart and therefor makes your suggestion look smart. Dat meens no talkin lyk dis. Proper grammer is loved aswell. Always use Capitals, Commas, Colens, Full Stops etc. Third, don't just state that we should have a certain thing in the game like this: "We should have some new pets." Always have details about your suggestion. quote:
"We should have more pets. What about a...
Test Pet Pet, lvl 1 Damage: 10-10 Element: Test Description: This is a test Rarity: 5
how is it?" See, that looks much better, right? Don't post suggestions that are listed in the Frequently Suggested Ideas Also, the quicker the board is locked, the quicker it gets to Artix. If you don't wanna wait for three days, pay the Locking Request Thread a visit. horusmaster9 has provided this small, easy guide on how to get your thread locked for the lost and confused =-) quote:
Step-by-Step Lock/Deletion Step 1: Get link to your thread. Step 2: Click on the Lock Request thread at the top of the Suggestions. Step 3: Post the link to your thread along with whether you want it locked or deleted. Step 4: Wait and it will be locked or deleted. I'm pretty sure that the basics are covered. Lets continue.... Weapons {s02} Ok, the first rule about weapons is that they should NEVER be stronger than the Doom Weapons. If you are going to suggest a weapon, try and put it in something like this: Name: Level:Type: Damage:Element:Special:Description:Bonuses:Rarity:Location:Price/SellbackDescribing what the weapon looks like is good, too. Pics are good too Here is an example: Name: Test Mace Level: 1 Type: Mace Damage: 100-100 Element: Test Special: On hit: Death Description: This is a Test Mace made by Sorrow for his guide. Bonuses: END+ 500 Rarity: 5 Location: Sorrow's guide Price/Sellback 5000000000 sellback Now, onward! | |

| part 3 Accesories {s03} Accessories are basicly boosts for your character. The only visable accesories are Capes, Wings and Helms. This template is basicly the same as my weapon template, but without the "damage" or "special" parts. Name: Level:Type: Element:Description:Bonuses:Rarity:LocationPrice/SellbackHere are a few more examples for ya Name: Test Cape Level: 1 Type: Cape Element: Test Description: Test. Bonuses: 1+ INT Rarity: 5 Location: Sorrow's guide. Price/Sellback 5000000000 sellback This cape is just a normal dark blue one. Name: Test Wings Level: 1 Type: Wings Element: Test Description: Testing.... one, two, three testing. Bonuses: 1+END Rarity: 5 Location: Sorrow's Guide. Price/Sellback: 5000000000g sellback These are purple bird wings. Name: Invisable Helm Level: 1 Type: Helm Element: Test Description: It looks like your net wearing a helm at all! Bonuses: STR+ 2, INT+ 1, END+ 1 Rarity: 5 Location: Sorrow's Guide. Price/Sellback: 500000000000000g sellback Well.... it's invisable" It's just like that with Rings, Belts, etc. Just don't say what they look like.... because you can't see them anyway. Armor/Classes {s04} The template is just same as the last one Name: Level:Type: Element:Description:Bonuses:Rarity:Location:Price/SellbackArmors are different to the other accesories. They don't only change your look, but they replace your skills with others new skills! They also don't normally have bonuses. You are allowed a max of 14 skills Ah. heres the example, right on time! Name: Test Armor Level: 1 Type: Armor Element: Test Description: It's a big box. Hope you sprayed some Sneevil Reppelent on... Bonuses: N/A Rarity: 5 Location: Sorow's Guide Price/Sellback: 500000000000000000000000000000g sellback It's a biiiiiig box! Here are the skills: Level 1: Test poke/5 MP/2 Cooldown Pokes enemy for 1-1000000000000000000000000 damage. Level2: Test Death/20 mp/10 Cooldown Kills enemy." As for the classes....... They are exactly like armors, but they are not items. They don't get kept in your inventory. Some come with exclusive types of weapons, such as Spears and Bows. Junk/Resources {s05} Junk is a useless item that is only good for selling. The max price junk sells for so far is 500g. Name: Level:Type: Description:Rarity:Location:Price/Sellback:It's time for.... yes, you guessed it, an example! " Name: Stick Level: 1 Type: Junk Description: It's a stick. Great for examples. Rarity: 5 Location: Sorrow's Guide...... and everywhere in existance. Price/Sellback: 500g sellback" Now, Resourses are like junk, but they are actually usefull. They can be merged into powerful items, most of the time. Remember, these things don't sell for much. " Name: Rock Level: 1 Type: Resourse Element: Test Description: It's a rock. Rarity: 5 Location: Sorrow's guide. Price/Sellback: 1 sellback" | |

| part 4 Pets {s06} Yay! Pets! Try to keep them small Pets have pretty low damage. Try not to make there damage to high. My Pet template is excactly like my weapon template. Name: Level:Type: Element:Damage:Special:Description:Bonuses:Rarity:Location:Price/Sellback:I'm actually gonna make this example realistic, because it seems many people overpower their pets. Name: Test Puppy Level: 15 Type: Pet Element: Test Damage: 5-15 Special: Stuns enemy for 2 turns. 5% chance. Description: A realistic example? OMG! Bonuses: N/A Rarity: 5 Location: Sorrow's Guide Price/Sellback: 300 sellback Quests/Events {s07} Here, have a quest template. Name: Level RequirementsElement:MonstersObjective:Frames:Rewards:Location:Quests need to have rewards. They can be any type of item at all. As for the obective.... just explain what you have to do in the quest. Element is just what the element of all the monsters is. Name: Writing a Guide Level Requirements N/A Element: Test Monsters ------------------- Name: Test Monster Damage: Scaled HP: Scaled MP: Scaled Looks: It looks like a Seed Spitter -------------------- Objective: Finish this guide. Frames: 1000000000000000 Rewards:My first sticky or "Helpful" buff (1% chance of dropping) Location: Right here..... An event is normally multipple related quests. A War is basicly one frame that is always filled with 7, 8 or 12 monsters. Plus the joke wave with only 1 monster. Shops {s08} Making a shop can be tricky. You have to make up items for the shop, a shopkeeper and a dialouge for "Talk" (you really should have these) and a welcome message. Plus all the extras like Item quests, questions etc. Well, template time! Shop Name:Shop Keeper:Type of shop:Items:Welcome Message:Talk Dialouge:Extras:Now, your shop should be something like this: Shop Name: Sorrow's Guide Shop Keeper: Sorrow Type of shop: All types of items Items: --------------------------- Name: Test Knife Level: 1 Type: Dagger Damage: 1-1 Element: Test Description: Stabby stabby Bonuses: N/A Rarity: 5 Location: Sorrow's Guide, Writing a Guide quest Price/Sellback: 0 gold and 0 gold sellback -------------------------- Welcome Message: Sorrow: Hi me! Talk Dialouge: Sorrow: I'm in a shop Extras: ----------------------- Sorrow: Could you pick up that pencil? quest: Name: Pick up the pencil Level Requirements: 29 Element: None Monsters: None Objective: Pick up that pencil. Frames: 1 Rewards: N/A Location: Sorrow's Guide ------------------------ Thats a shop for ya | |

| part 5 Big No-nos {s09} Heres a list of things you should never, EVER do when in the Suggestion Forum. 1) Typing in all caps 2) Giant Fonts 3) Demanding a suggestion 4) Threatening AE if they don't put in your suggestion 5) Double/Triple/Quadripple posting 6) Going insane at people who say they don't like your idea, whether they say it meanly or politely. 7) Making multiple threads about the same suggestion Not waiting 3 days before you can make another thread 9) Spamming up other peoples threads. 10) Advirtising your thread by PM or by posting in sombody elses thread. Sigs are okay, only if the owner of the thread is the only one using it. 11) Stealing other peoples ideas. 12) Having a list of supporters (It's weird, but it's a rule) 13) Getting others to use supporter signatures and such. 14) Pointing out typos in my guide 15) Posting ideas that are not even half-finished yet. Currently every other thread seems to start with "This is only the beginning of an idea...", "I 'm only posting this and will finish it later...", "I will add [XXX] later...", "I'm still working on..." Well, if it's still being worked on it should not be posted. Full stop. How are we supposed to comment on the idea if the person who created the suggestion is not even done working on it yet? (posted by Dewdrop Fairy) 16) No titles like 10000hits+!!!1 @!@!Greates!@!@Suggestions^&%$ Evah!!1SHiftone11eleven! (posted by Magic Number 23) 17) Typing in all caps. It appears you are either demanding, shouting, threatening, flaming, or spamming. (posted by horusmaster9) Thanks Dewdrop Fairy for this idea FAQ {s10} Have a question about this guide or about suggestions in general? Well, just PM me with your question and I will add it here! Dewdrop fairy came up with this. NOTE: You will remain annonymus. quote:
Q: Do they even read this stuff? quote:
A: Yes, each and every idea posted in this forum will be submitted to Artix and his team of game developpers (unless the thread gets deleted, of course).
In order for this to happen, your thread needs to be either locked (see the lock request thread) or inactive (nobody posted in it for three days).
As soon as a thread is either locked or inactive, Xevious will make a brief summary (really brief - one sentence or so) of it, and this summary will be given to the devs.
It's unlikely that your idea can be used right away. The team probably has a pretty tight working schedule for the coming weeks. But they will file it away in a catalogue of submitted ideas, and the next time they need to develop a weapon/quest/pet or whatever, they will look into that catalogue for inspiration.
quote:
Q: If I would like to suggest classes or weapons, would I have to do 1 set of weapons or 1 class per topic, or could I suggest 3 classes in 1 topic, or 5 weapon sets for 1 topic? quote:
A: If you were going to do three classes, they would all have to be related. For example, if you were making a Linus Lord class, if you wanted two other classes in your thread, I imagine you would have to make different versions of the class, like Mega Linus Lord etc. As for the weapons, you would have to make them related. Like, a Mega Fire set. If you wanted five sets of weapons, they would have to be Staff, Axe, Sword, Dagger and Mace versions.
To sum it all up, you would have to make them all related. quote:
Q: Why can't you have a list of supporter's? quote:
A: It is against the rules. Enough said. If you want some more infomation, it is deemed as a "Clan-like activity" which is against the rules. End {s11} Congratz for actually reading this far! If your reading this, you should be a great suggester If I have missed anything, please tell me. Credits {s12} I would like to thank everyone who commented on the guide and all supporters, but particularily my friends Dewdrop Fairy and horusmaster9. They have helped me a lot with this guide, and without their support and ideas, it wouldn't be half as good.
